DUNKIRK, INDIANA · SINCE 1992
Off-Road Easement Solutions
S.D.P. Manufacturing builds the EZ Hauler line — equipment that fits through 36″ openings, lifts up to 5,500 lbs, and goes where a full-size line truck can’t. Family-owned. Built in the USA.
Tracks retract under the unit for passage through openings as narrow as 36 inches — while still supporting up to 2,500 lbs.
Front outriggers fold, retract, and extend hydraulically, keeping a low center of gravity through tight spaces.
Full work-zone rotation gives crews maximum reach and efficiency on every job site.
THE EZ HAULER LINE
Five purpose-built machines for setting poles, hauling transformers, and digging holes in places a line truck can’t reach.

5,500 lb lift · 36″ pass-through · 44 ft lineman lift
Our flagship mini-digger derrick performs full line-truck functions in confined spaces — transports poles and transformers, lifts linemen, runs a hydraulic pole puller, digs holes, and tamps soil, all by remote control.

3,400 lb lift · 32+ ft reach
The predecessor to the 55MLP — full line-truck capability for confined areas. Collapses to just 7 feet tall and 15 feet long, including the crane.

2,200 lb lift · 24+ ft reach
The most compact unit in the line, built to maximize power and maneuverability. Collapses to 5′8″ tall and 12 feet long.

Ride-on utility unit
Developed for utility pole installation across mountains, deserts, river beds, forests, and disaster-relief sites — wherever the terrain gets difficult.

Truck-mounted height & reach
Combines the height and reach of a truck-mounted aerial device with access to restrictive job sites — backyards, sidewalks, and alleys.

OUR STORY
S.D.P. Manufacturing got its start in Albany, Indiana, in 1976 — not as an equipment maker, but as a sewer-cleaning company. Around 1991, an employee from American Electric Power stopped in to use the shop’s facilities, saw one of S.D.P.’s designs, and mentioned he could use a unit like it to move transformers. That conversation led to the first EZ Hauler mini digger derrick.
The company moved into a new building in Dunkirk, Indiana in 2004, and has been manufacturing easement equipment there ever since — skilled tradesmen building every EZ Hauler by hand, right here in the USA.
“All we concentrate on is easement equipment. We are family-owned with a family environment.” — Dru Hall, Vice President
“This is all we do, and we do it very well.” — Derek Mays, Plant Manager
Mays is a volunteer fireman and former fire chief in Albany, Indiana; Hall was recognized as Indiana North District Humanitarian of the Year for his work in the community.
